Waveland man charged with sex crimes

A Waveland man is behind bars, accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile.

Waveland Chief Mike Prendegast said officers received a complaint last weekend that a female juvenile was being molested.

After investigating the complaint, Michael Eugene Moore, 67, of Waveland, was charged with touching a child for lustful purposes and sexual battery.

He was taken to the Hancock County jail, where his bond was set at $65,000.

Prendegast said the investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call Waveland Police at 228-467-3669.
