Waveland issues city-wide boil water notice

Waveland has issued a city-wide boil water notice.

The precautionary notice is in effect from last night at 8:45 p.m. through 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

The notice was issued after a loss of pressure in the city’s water system, which happened after public works officials turned off two of the city’s four wells to try to alleviate pressure that was too high in the city system, Waveland Mayor Jay Trapani said.

The notice originally was issued at 5:45 for a portion of the city, but just a few hours later, was re-issued to include the entire city. Again, this is a precautionary boil water notice.
