Waveland council meeting to discuss shortage of housing

Happening on May 22 in Waveland, a motion is being suggested to proclaim a local emergency of a shortage of affordable housing.

The meeting will take place at Waveland City Hall tonight at 6:30. This comes just about a month after Gulf Grove Apartments were condemned and the occupants are being forced to find new homes.

Originally those residents were given an eviction deadline of May 15th, but that deadline was extended to May 29th.

According to the Sea Coast Echo, the board of aldermen may consider another deadline extension.
