Waveland arrest three with shoplifting, seek fourth suspect

Waveland Police have arrested three people and are looking for a fourth suspect in connection with a shoplifting case.

Police Chief Michael Prendergast said three people were arrested: 45-year-old Keith Bell of Gulfport, 44-year-old Brian Johnson of Gulfport and 24-year-old Mahalia Willis of Biloxi. All three were charged with felony shoplifting and trespassing. Willis also has an outstanding warrant for felony shoplifting out of Slidell, Louisiana. No bond has been set.

Police also have issued a warrant for the fourth suspect, 24-year-old Kalisha Crockett of Gulfport, charged with felony shoplifting and trespassing.

Prendergast said that on Monday about 5:44 p.m., officers were sent to Walmart about possible shoplifters.

Walmart security were alerted earlier in the day about four people in a yellow Chevy Camaro who were going into Walmarts along the Coast and taking merchandise.

The four suspects were in Walmart and Prendergast said they were concealing items from the store on their persons and in a tote bag and tried to leave.

Officers saw the Camaro parked in front of the store. A black female got in the car and slowly drove to another area of the parking lot, then returned. Officers detained the driver and two men were detained in the store. A fourth person, a woman, made it to the parking lot, but then could not be found.
