Warm night with a few chances for rain
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead
A few showers and thunderstorms remain possible this evening before skies become partly cloudy overnight. Lows will fall to around 77 degrees.
Wednesday brings mostly sunny skies with only a 30% chance of a few afternoon thunderstorms, mainly between 2 and 4 p.m. Highs will reach around 93, but the heat index could climb as high as 106. If you’re spending time outdoors, be sure to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks and limit strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
Thursday and Friday stay mostly sunny and hot with highs around 93 degrees. Heat index values will once again reach 105-110, while rain chances remain low.
Looking ahead to the Independence Day holiday, temperatures stay in the lower 90s with a chance for isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms. While much of the day should remain dry, keep an eye on the forecast if you have outdoor plans or fireworks celebrations.
Scattered afternoon storms become a little more common Sunday through Tuesday, but temperatures will remain seasonably hot with highs in the lower 90s.
