Walter Anderson Museum of Art holding inaugural light festival

In celebration of the Walter Anderson Museum of Art’s 30th anniversary, an inaugural Silent Light Festival will transform the museum into an illuminated wonderland.

The week-long celebration of the winter season will be fueled with outdoor installations, digital projection, and nature-inspired illumination.

Special events during Silent Light include a silent auction from December 9th through the 12th and a light festival and silent disco dance party on December 17th.

Walter Anderson Museum of Art Executive Director Julian Rankin tells News 25 this is a gift to the community and a benefit to support the museum. “People love lights during the winter season and you know there are many Christmas lights and all kinds of ways to enjoy that. For us and having Walter Anderson be so inspired by nature, we wanted to take our own approach to it. So, when folks come and see our lights, they will be a little bit different, have that nature theme, and Walter Anderson inspiration.”

The inaugural light festival will start Thursday, December 9th and run up until Friday, December 17th. The light show is free to the public.
