Walmart Neighborhood Market on Highway 49 receives honor

The neighborhood market off Highway 49 received the Helen R. Walton Excellence in Community Leadership Award.

The location received this honor for the staff’s commitment to the Gulfport community.

Store Manager Kevin Gaines received the award during a Walmart corporate meeting earlier this year.

As a part of the program, the neighborhood market was able to donate $25,000 to Triumph Church in Gulfport.

Currently, the neighborhood market provides monthly food donations and volunteer hours to local nonprofits.
