Walmart Hiring Veterans for Two New Stores

Walmart wants to hire veterans for two of its new Neighborhood Market stores coming to Biloxi and D’Iberville. The stores are hoping to hire 190 associates by early fall and be open for business by late fall.

Walmart will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months. Earlier this year, the company made a commitment to hire recently discharged veterans to help service men and women find meaningful careers outside of the military.

Jim Hasty, the D’Iberville Store Manager, says, “Well, Walmart wants to be a part of helping them re-acclimate to the community, and we have a lot of positions open that a lot of folks would like to have, you know, from working the deli, bakery, cashiers. There’s opportunity on the Coast to open some additional new stores, so there’s a lot of opportunity for them.”
