Walker Powell named Co-pitcher of the Week

More weekly honors for the boys up in Hattiesburg as Southern Miss Friday night starter Walker Powell has been named Conference USA Co-pitcher of the Week.

In game one against Middle Tennessee, the junior dominated the Blue Raiders, spinning his third complete game of the season to go along with a career-high ten strikeouts and just one run allowed.

This is his third C-USA award of the year and his third of his career.

In addition, Hunter Slater has been named one of the Collegiate Baseball National Players of the Week for going yard three times and driving in eight runs against New Orleans on Wednesday, tying a pair of school records.

The Golden Eagles are red hot, having won eight games in a row.
