‘Walk to save Lives’ at the American Heart Association Heart Walk

Thousands of South Mississippians were doing their part to raise awareness for heart and blood related diseases over the weekend.

The American Heart Association held its signature Heart Walk Saturday morning at Jones Park.

Local businesses, volunteers, as well as heart disease and stroke survivors joined side-by-side, doing their part to save lives.

There were also fun activities at the event including cornhole, a bubble wrap walk, and even a tent where participants could write who they’re walking for with a name tag.

The theme of this year’s heart walk was ‘I walk to save lives.’

Every walker who joined, every dollar donated, means more lives saved and more research.
