Waffle House murder case goes to grand jury
The man accused of killing a Waffle House waitress in Biloxi waived his preliminary hearing at the Harrison County jail. The case will now be turned over to a Harrison County grand jury for indictment.
52-year-old Julie Brightwell was shot and killed on November 27th, and police say 45-year-old Johnny Mount was the customer who pulled the trigger.
There were three other employees and six customers inside of the diner at the time of the shooting.
Harrison County prosecutor, Herman Cox, also referenced security video he says shows Mount shooting the victim in the right side of her forehead with a nine millimeter gun.
Mount is being held at the Harrison County jail, charged with first-degree murder. His bond remains at 2-million dollars.
