Wading through History: Commemorative Celebration of the Civil Rights Wade-Ins

Joining us in studio this morning are Alicia Fairley and Nakisha Henderson. They’re here to talk about the upcoming Wading through History event.

Wading through History is a commemorative celebration of the Civil Rights Wade-Ins that takes place on Monday, June 23.

From 5:30 to 6 p.m., the Bridge Memorial Walk and Roll call will take place at the foot of the overpass on the Jones Park side. It is led by community elders, youth, and organizers ‘Roots of Hope’ and ‘Legacy Business League.’

From 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., the Wade-In Commemoration and Cultural Expo at the Coast Transit Authority in Gulfport.

There will be networking, food, and fellowship.
