Voter registration deadlines approaching
Election Day is less than two months away, but the deadline to register to vote is fast approaching.
National Voter Registration Day is a day that reminds Americans to register to vote before it is too late.
The Circuit Clerk’s Offices will be open on Saturday, October 7th from 8 to 12 for voter registration.
The deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 9th and all mail in applications must be postmarked no later than October 9th to vote in the November election.
Harrison County Circuit Clerk Connie Ladner says voting is the foundation of democracy. “The right to vote and have that vote counted is the basics for democracy. With that everything is possible, without that little is possible.”
If you meet the criteria to vote from a distance in the November general election, all mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received within five days after the election to be counted.
