Volunteers team up for mobile food pantry in Hancock County

HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Three organizations teamed up Wednesday at the Hancock County Farmers Market to help out anyone facing food insecurities.

Coast Electric, United Way, and Hancock Resource Center hosted a mobile food pantry.

Over 50 volunteers from these organizations showed up to help including some students from Hancock High School.

In just two hours, around 300 families were able to drive through for some fresh produce, chicken, and shelf-stable foods.

All leftover food was dropped off to a local food pantry.
