Volunteers help assemble ‘The Wall that Heals’ in D’Iberville
D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)-Over at the Bobby Eleuterius Sports Complex, volunteers spent the day assembling ‘The Wall that Heals’ Vietnam War memorial exhibit.
Crews met around 8 Wednesday morning, working to put together the 275-foot wall. That memorial has more than 58,000 Vietnam veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Crews are also working to assemble information where visitors can learn more about the Vietnam War and see various artifacts from the war.
It was a meeting of past and present as volunteer and Vietnam War Don Phillips reflects on the generations meeting to build the wall.
‘The Wall that Heals’ exhibit will hold an opening ceremony Thursday at 6 p.m. Visitors are welcome to view the wall anytime between then and April 13th.
