Volunteers and staff prepare for Cruisin’ the Coast

Hundreds of volunteers and staff are preparing for Cruisin’ the Coast as we’re just under a week out from America’s Largest Block Party.

It took fives hours, 150 biscuits, ten dozen donuts, 90 cups of coffee, a sea of water, and gallons of Coca-Cola beverages for volunteers to prepare 9,500 registration bags over the weekend.

The bags were stuffed with a program list, a schedule, coupons, flyers, car decals, t-shirts, and more for those that are participating in the eight-day event.

Over 9,000 cars are expected to participate this year, an increase from last year. Cruisin’ the Coast Registration Director Craig Grisoli said, “Our volunteers are the best. They really are the heartbeat and soul of Cruisin’ the Coast. It takes about 700 of them to make it go and we couldn’t do it without them. I mean, literally. There’s only three or four of us that work in the office at Cruisin’ the Coast, so all of my site managers, all the volunteers are just that. They are volunteers in different car clubs and community organizations and they mean the world to us.”
