Visitor at Magnolia Park Elementary arrested by OSSD Campus Police

A disturbance at Magnolia Park Elementary in Ocean Springs led school officials to immediately authorize ‘shelter in place’ for students.

The incident led Ocean Springs School District campus police to arrest Rena Ann Callister.

The 56-year-old is being held at Jackson County Jail, charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, simple assault on a public official, and disturbing the peace.

Her bond for all charges totals $1,435.

Ocean Springs School District sent a letter to parents saying “The safety of our students and staff members remains the number one priority of the Ocean Springs School District. We want to emphasize that all security precautions were put in place and students were not in danger at any time.”
