Vintage Motorcycle Show
The weather was perfect for a ride on the Coast this weekend and large groups of motorcycle enthusiasts took advantage at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi.
The second annual Vintage Motorcycle Show at the museum showcased about 100 classic motorcycles of all makes and models, ranging from bobbers to scramblers and even a few classic scooters were out on display.
Many consider these bikes as works of art and the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum has taken note as there are already plans to go further with the theme of motorcycles as art in the near future. Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art Executive Director Kevin O’Brien said, “We really looks at these bikes, especially older bikes, as being real works of art and you get to see the form following function and to me looking at the engine and exhaust and wire, wheels, things like that to me that is really a work of art.”
Gordon Bass traveled from Louisiana for the show. He said, “I enjoy the motorcycles. I had motorcycles when I was in high school. My first motorcycle was a 1965. It was a Honda Super 90 and over the years I’ve probably owned over a hundred motorcycles.”
Sometime next year, the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art plans to unveil a new exhibit titled “The Wind in your Hair: Vintage Motorcycles.”
