Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Ceremony

Today is the first Vietnam Veterans Day in the state of Mississippi. A local organization made sure veterans of the war will be honored forever.
Crusaders for Veterans held their annual Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Ceremony at the Biloxi National Cemetery. Over 2.5 million men and women served in the Vietnam War and over 58,000 of them paid the ultimate price for their service.
For those who died and those who returned home, but were mistreated, these ceremonies are long overdue. Retired Major General James Garner said, “Personally to me it means recognition to our Vietnam Veterans. For so many years after the Vietnam War they were forgotten and they were ignored. Of late there’s been a great effort by the public and public officials to make sure our Vietnam veterans get their just due.”
To conclude the ceremony, friends and family members of fallen Vietnam veterans pinned a medal to a wreath in their honor.
