Victim named in Thursday night shooting death in Gautier

GAUTIER, MS – Gautier officials have named the victim in Thursday night’s fatal shooting.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Tyreak Henry Green.

On Thursday, July 7, 2022, at approximately 7 p.m., Gautier officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 2500 block of Southern Drive. The male victim, later identified as Green, was found shot in front of a residence when officers arrived.

Green was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Since the initial information gathering phase of the investigation, detectives have been able to develop several leads using the information gathered from the scene, as well as information provided by neighboring police departments and Crime Stoppers tips.

Officers are working diligently to follow up on these leads and to process all incoming information related to this incident to make an arrest. Officers believe this is an isolated incident; therefore, there is no threat to the public.
