Victim identified in possible drowning in George County

Saturday, April 27, 2024, the George County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of the Escatawpa River Bridge on Highway 612 in reference to a possible drowning.

Rescue Divers from George County Search and Rescue Dive Team were able to locate the body of a male after a search of the waterway was conducted.

George County Coroner, DeeAnn Murrah identified the deceased male as Jose Garcia (18) of Mobile, AL.
