Victim identified in fatal pedestrian-vehicle accident on Highway 90
The victim in an early morning fatal pedestrian involved accident has been identified.
Gulfport Police are actively investigating the accident near Highway 90 and 20th Avenue.
Police posted about the incident on X (formerly Twitter) at 6:25 a.m. The accident was cleared by 7 a.m.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 90 were closed from 25th Avenue (Highway 49) to 20th Avenue while police worked the accident.
According to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer, the victim has been identified as 38-year-old Joshua Brown of Biloxi. According to Switzer, he was pronounced dead on scene and the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
