Victim identified in fatal Jackson County house fire

A 66-year-old man died Sunday afternoon from injuries he suffered from a controlled burn. He has been identified as Allen Provost.

Sheriff Mike Ezell says the man was burning on his property on Larue Dantzler Road in the Larue Community around 4 o’clock.

Authorities say it is accidental, but the incident will be presented to a grand jury because of his death.

The Sheriff’s Department and the state fire marshal are investigating.
