VFW setting stage for steel guitars
They’ll be strumming and serving supper at the Gulfport VFW Post 4526 off Dedeaux Road tomorrow afternoon.
Today, concert organizers were setting the stage for a mini steel guitar concert tomorrow by the Deep South Steel Guitars. It starts at 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
This is an inaugural event, the first celebration of its kind for Corky Tittle, who is a musician himself. VFW 4526 Women’s Auxiliary President Tami Soria said, “Now, these guys are amazing. They’re old school. A lot of them have been at the Grand Ole Opry. They have played for legends. It’s amazing.”
You do not have to be a member of the VFW to enjoy a beverage or snack at their facilities. Proceeds go right back into the community, providing scholarships to the children of our military men and women who were killed in action.
