VFW post holds Thanksgiving Feast

The Mark Seymour VFW Post in Ocean Springs held their own Thanksgiving celebration with free meals for the community.

Guests at the post took a free Thanksgiving meal including turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, pie, and much more.

While some chowed down, others took time to pose for early Christmas photos with St. Nick himself — Santa Claus.

The post is a drop off spot for Toys-For-Tots and guests were able to drop off gifts.

All members of the community were invited to the feast, both military and non-military citizens.

“We’re about anybody and everybody. We are a family organization, so whether it’s kids, it’s seniors, it’s high school students, and it’s a great opportunity to connect with members of our community and then just show them we’re not a smoky bar,” said Lela Bremen, the Coast Commander of VFW Post 5699. “We’re a wonderful organization and we love to be part of the community.”

The post is currently working on a veteran angel tree they will soon put up to help bring holiday joy to 21 veterans along the coast.
