Veterans Stand Down Event

Going on their third year, First Missionary Baptist Church Handsboro will be hosting their Veterans Stand Down Event on Saturday.
The event offers services to our veterans to get them the help they need, anything from legal services to a haircut. Last year, the event helped over 250 people, most of them homeless veterans.
Arleen Stewart tells News 25 it’s the least they can do to help the homeless in our community. “To help the community, to go out and actually do something as part of missionaries, as part of our job is to go out and help the people in need for both the veterans as well as the homeless individuals. We’re there to assist them.”
The event will be tomorrow at the Biloxi Civic Center from 9 to 1 p.m.
