Veterans Parade floats through Downtown Biloxi

The Gulf Coast Veterans Day Parade floated through Downtown Biloxi Saturday after the city was chosen as this year’s venue.

The highly anticipated parade showed off JROTC programs from coastal schools, the military, and an array of other groups.

The full parade returned this year after COVID-19 forced organizers to hold it as three separate smaller events along the Coast last year.

The floats began at the Biloxi Civic Center at 11 a.m. before arriving at City Hall about an hour-and-a-half later. Air Force Nurse Nathan Stevenson said, “I just think it’s important to show support for our veterans and for everything that they’ve done for our country. Like I said, I think it’s great for our community to show support for the military and for all the veterans who’ve served. You know, just wanted to come out and see the festivities and support the cause.”

This year’s Grand Marshal was Dr. Inez Kelleher, an orthopedic surgeon and Air Force veteran.

The parade is typically held in a different city each year.
