Veterans Day celebration at Long Beach Middle School
Long Beach Middle School also celebrated Veterans Day today, honoring vets with a big celebration in the gym.
The public, veterans, and current service members were welcome to attend the annual event which included special student performances and veteran guest speakers.
The event gives these students the opportunity to show their respect and honor those who have served our country.
Student Council President Amiri Williams tells News 25 Veterans Day is extra special to him because his dad served 25 years in the Navy. “He was doing it for our family. He loves us so much that he did it for us and he wanted to make sure that we have a safe country. I think it’s important because they risk their lives and serve for our country and they know they can die from serving for us, but they do it anyway because they love our country.”
The celebration was followed by a reception for veterans, current military service members, and their families.
