Veteran town hall meeting in Biloxi
The Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System hosted a special event tonight to hear veterans thoughts on healthcare at the VA.
The veteran town hall event at the VA gave veterans, their families, and stakeholders a chance to provide feedback on the healthcare system. The goal is to ensure that veterans and their families have the opportunity to be heard and express their concerns regarding their healthcare.
Interim Director for the Veterans Healthcare System Dr. Chris Saslo tells News 25 why hosting this town hall is important. “What we are trying to do is make sure that we are available to hear what our veterans concerns are. We often times hear things that relates to our veterans benefits and that’s why we have our partners from our veterans benefits here tonight as well as our cemetery partners. Of course a big issue that always comes up is our care in the community which is when we provide care that isn’t provided from the facility itself and so we are very fortunate to have our partners from Tri West here to answer some of the questions our veterans might have.”
If you missed tonight’s town hall there will be three more this year at the VA.
