Vancleave softball forces South State game three after a thrilling nine inning victory!

Vancleave High School hosting East Central for game two of the Class 5A South State series.

Both the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Hornets with stellar pitching performances. The hits were rare and scattered all throughout the game, and it would remain scoreless for seven innings.

East Central struck first in the 8th with one run and Vancleave matched it in the bottom half of the inning. In the bottom of the 9th, Bulldog Brooklyn Howard hit a deep fly ball to left field and it was far enough for the two-time track State Champion Jayda Ferrell to tag at third and Vancleave wins it!

From a mercy ruled game one and a walked off in game two, this is what the sport is all about. Vancleave wins this one with a final score of 2 -1! Vancleave and East Central will play game three at MGCCC Monday night at 7 to see who advances to the State Championship!
