Vancleave man charged in connection to shooting in Latimer on Wednesday
Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in connection to a shooting in Latimer on Wednesday.
Sheriff John Ledbetter said 18-year-old Matt Fletcher of Vancleave was arrested Wednesday night following a search of a wooded area.
Fletcher is charged with shooting into a motor vehicle and is being held without bond at the Jackson County jail.
Investigators say more arrests are expected.
Deputies began searching the woods near Latimer for three suspects after a shooting that happened about 5 p.m. Wednesday on Scott Street.
No one was hurt and the suspects drove off toward Old Biloxi Road, where the drier crashed into a parked deliver truck. They fled on foot into the woods, prompting the search.
