Monday was a day of celebration at Vancleave High School– as one of their own makes a huge step in her athletic career. The Bulldog library was filled with proud family members, coaches, and teammates as Sarah Donnelly officially puts pen to paper with the University of Mobile soccer program.
Donnelly is a senior member of the Vancleave girls soccer team, where she proudly served in the net as a goalkeeper. She flourished, having the second most saves in the magnolia state with 122 saves.
Not only is she an incredible soccer player, but she also excels in powerlifting, shot put, and DECA. She succeeds in the classroom as well — currently ranked 6th in her class with a 4.0 GPA and a 28 on her ACT..
Donnelly says Vancleave and her coaches are a big reason for her success.
The school has really gotten behind me and pushed me academically and athletically.
“All the coaches I have had, especially in the last couple of years have really helped me grow as a person and grow as a student. It was really special to see the impact that I had on my teammates and the people around me for them to come see me move to the next step, so it was really special to me,” Donnelly said.
Donnelly continued to say she’s super excited about the University of Mobile because it truly felt like home.
Congratulations on this huge accomplishment, Sarah!
