Vancleave Boys win first Bowling State Championship in School History!
For the first time in school history, the Vancleave Boys Bowling team came back to Jackson County with a State title in hand! The Bulldogs went up north after their recent Regional win and won the Class II State Championship with an overall total of 3,870 points.
They were feeling it from the start, bowling a season high of 1,074 points in the first game. Senior Hunter Lyles and sophomore Ayden Bates received All-State status as well for bowling in the top five with scores of 905 and 875. Lyles and their Head Coach Eric Kotowski told WXXV what this historic honor means to them.
Congratulations to the Vancleave Boys Bowling team, and best of luck to their All-Stars as they play for an individual title on Friday!
