Vancleave baseball’s Max Miller signs with Mississippi State
Vancleave’s Max Miller is signing to play baseball at the next level.
Back in November, he put pen to paper with PRCC, but less than three months later, is now seizing the division I opportunity.
Minus the haircut, some déjà vu this morning for Miller, this time signing his national letter of intent with Mississippi State.
The senior says he went to MSU’s prospect camp over the MLK weekend, in which he threw an impressive bullpen, before getting an on-campus tour, and then just a few days later, an official offer.
In 2021, Miller was a force on the mound and in the batter’s box, posting a sub 2 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 32 innings to go along with a .373 average, ten runs, and 12 RBI.
Numbers that will fit in nicely with the defending national champs. “I didn’t know it was a possibility, but I knew it was what I wanted. And I thought I had what it took in the tank to go up there and throw and it paid off. That’s just been a dream baseball school for me, going up there and playing, and even after they won the national championship last year, and why wouldn’t you want to go to a team that wins everything?”
Miller says he hopes to one day be a part of the Bulldogs’ weekend rotation, currently featuring a four-seam fastball, change-up, and 12-6 curveball.
Other Coast players on MSU’s 2022 roster are George County alum Logan Tanner and East Central alum Brad Cumbest.
