‘Van for Vets’ Fish Fry

Members of the public in Hancock County joined together on Saturday to benefit an important cause.

Lakeshore VFW Post 4808 hosted a fish fry for ‘Hancock County Van for Vets.’ ‘Van for Vets’ arranges transport for local veterans to doctor appointments and other medical visits and utilizes a wheelchair accessible van.

Proceeds from the fish fry will go towards the van’s upkeep and maintenance. Myra Ladner with ‘Van for Vets’ said, “There are many veterans, anywhere from 400 to 500 veterans, in our community that may not have access to doctor appointments. They may not be able to have other family members available to take them. This van is provided to be able to provide them ways to their appointments as needed.”
