Vaccine drive tonight in honor of former Pascagoula Councilman

A vaccine distribution drive is happening tonight in Pascagoula in honor of a former Pascagoula councilmen and current finance manager at the Jackson County Port Authority who lost his battle with COVID-19 Sunday.

Singing River, in partnership with Ochsner, along with family and friends of 51-year-old Joe Abston are sponsoring the COVID vaccine drive at the Pascagoula High School performing arts center in honor of Abston.

A flyer for the event includes a word from loved ones which reads ‘Joe Abston succumbed to COVID pneumonia Sunday night. He was not vaccinated, but died wanting people to learn from his story.”

The vaccine drive is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
