USM’s Frank Gore Jr. poised for breakout season
USM’s Frank Gore Jr. is poised for a breakout season in Hattiesburg.
Coming off the best season for a Southern Miss running back since 2017, all eyes are on the versatile second-year star in the making, who is even harder to tackle than he was a year ago. USM Head Coach Will Hall said, “Frank has probably added eight pounds of lean muscle mass with Coach Ancar, and so he’s a little bit bigger, a little bit stronger, hasn’t lost any explosiveness and he’s really, really taken to the offense and we think he’s going to have a big year, Lord willing and he stays healthy.”
In 2020, Gore went for 708 yards at a clip of 5.9 yards per carry with three total touchdowns.
