USM Pitcher Tanner Hall wins ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove

When Southern Miss pitcher Tanner Hall is on the mound, he’s one of the best in the nation at not allowing hits.

When the ball does get hit, he’s one of the best in the nation at recording the out anyway.

Today, Hall winning a Gold Glove award for his position, courtesy of the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings, making him the first USM player to ever win a Gold Glove.

In more than 112 innings, Hall making good on all 28 fielding changes without committing a single error.

The junior right hander posting dominant numbers all the way around with a mark of 12-4 and career highs in ERA, innings pitched, hits and batting average, leading to consensus All-American honors.

Hall is currently in Phoenix for the MLB Draft combine, alongside teammate Matthew Etzel.

Another Gold Glove winner took his glove all the way to Omaha, soon to be first-overall MLB draft pick Dylan Crews out of LSU.

In the JUCO ranks, Pearl River Community College is home to a pair of Gold Glovers, those being Poplarville alum Blaise Breerwood at second base and Luke Lyon on the mound.

Breerwood committed just two errors in 179 chances.
