USM Gulf Park Homecoming Maid Parade
Golf carts covered in black and gold spirit paraded around the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Park campus today in honor of this year’s homecoming maid.
Ashlei Lewis was elected to represent the Gulf Park campus at the game and in the parade in Hattiesburg this Saturday. She led the Gulf Park campus’ annual Golf Cart Parade today, an opportunity for student organizations to come together to share their spirit, unity and celebrate all in preparation for the big game Saturday night.
Coordinator of Student Life and Career Services Jona Burton said, “Since we don’t have the game on our campus, we want everyone on our campus to still be involved and to still have the opportunity to participate in the homecoming festivities.”
Ashlei Lewis, USM Gulf Park Homecoming Maid 2016, said, “It’s a great way to show your Southern Miss pride. I think I have a lot of Southern Miss pride, so it’s really exciting.”
This Saturday Gulf Park campus will host a tailgate event on the south lawn. You can watch the Southern Miss football game on WXXV Fox Saturday at 6 p.m.
