USM defensive coordinator leaving for FAU

Southern Miss is in the market for a new defensive coordinator with Tony Pecoraro reportedly departing for Florida Atlantic.
Footballscoop.com first broke the story which has yet to be confirmed by either school. Pecoraro will be serving in the same capacity at FAU where Lane Kiffin’s second staff is now complete.
Last year, the USM defense was 20th in the nation in total defense and 45th in points per game.
