USM campuses closed Tuesday due to threat of severe weather

All University of Southern Mississippi campuses and locations in Hattiesburg and on the Gulf Coast will be closed on Tuesday, March 22, in anticipation of severe weather.

Classes will not meet in person or online.

Operations are expected to resume as regularly scheduled on Wednesday, March 23.

The National Weather Service has placed south Mississippi, including the University’s Hattiesburg campus and all Coastal Operations, at an enhanced (3 out of 5) to moderate risk (4 out of 5) for severe weather on Tuesday, March 22.
