USM basketball’s Austin Crowley named Lou Henson Award finalist
Having already served as a finalist for the Howell Trophy, Southern Miss guard Austin Crowley tabbed as a finalist once again for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year, awarded annually to the top mid-major player in Division I men’s college basketball.
Crowley is one of 30 guys in the running and just one of three from the Sun Belt Conference.
This season, Crowley won SBC Newcomer of the Year, pacing the Golden Eagles with more than 16 points per game and 62 steals.
The junior has scored in double figures in 25 out of USM’s 32 games and is a first-team All-Conference selection.
