USM baseball’s Carson Paetow walks it off vs. Illinois Saturday
On Saturday, the Vancleave Villain, former Bulldog Carson Paetow, walked it off for the Southern Miss baseball team in the bottom of the 11th inning.
The Golden Eagles winning an instant classic 14-13, having scored in eight out of the 11 innings.
However, they lost games one and three by a combined 13 runs, allowing 35 runs for the series after leading the nation in ERA after the first four games of the season.
The Golden Eagles are now 5-2 overall. USM still ranked 25th in the country.
Defending National Champion Ole Miss steady at 4, bouncing back to take games two and three from now 18th ranked Maryland.
Mississippi State with a big rebound as well, taking the final two games against Arizona State.
