USM alum Matt Wallner red hot at the plate
The Southern Miss home run king is starting to heat up at both the Major League and Triple-A levels.
After going 7-11 in five appearances with the Minnesota Twins last week, Matt Wallner got sent back down to the St. Paul Saints where he’s continuing to punish the baseball.
In his two games since, Wallner has a pair of three-hit performances with a home run in each one and 15 total bases combined.
What’s more, his six hits have all been smashed at least 100 miles per hour off the bat, topping out at 115.6 on a single off the wall.
