USM alum Matt Wallner hits epic homerun in MLB Futures All-Star Game
On Saturday, Southern Miss alum Matt Wallner took part in the MLB All-Star Futures Game and turned one baseball into a thing of the past.
Watch the video above to see Wallner’s third inning blast, 116 miles per hour off the bat, insane exit velocity. That was good for a two-run shot that put the American League team ahead for good in its 6-3 win over the National League.
Coming out of the All-Star Break, Wallner will begin his promotion with the Triple A St. Paul Saints, having clobbered 21 homers and 11 in his last 34 games for the Double-A Wichita Wind Surge.
Wallner hit 58 home runs at USM.
