USM Alum Brian Dozier cut by San Diego Padres
On Saturday, the San Diego Padres released Southern Miss alum Brian Dozier just five months after signing the former All-Star to a minor league contract back in February.
The 33-year-old Dozier would have made $2.2 million had he made the Major League roster but he was left off the 60 man player pool for next week’s Major League restart.
Last year, the former Golden Eagle won a World Series with the Washington Nationals, clubbing 20 home runs despite falling into a platoon during the second half of last season.
