Urban forest now open in Long Beach

Coast residents now have access to an urban forest in Long Beach.

The City of Long Beach held a press conference for a new urban forest now open to the public.

Located off Marcie Drive, the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain announced this morning a $1.9 million purchase for the 32 acres of undeveloped beach front property.

The new land is vital to air and water quality, native ecosystem preservation, bird migration, overall coastal resiliency, and increased economic value to the community.
