Updates on the City of Ocean Springs

Ocean Springs is paving the way for the classic car show this week and Mayor Shea Dobson is wearing pink as part of the ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ campaign.

Taking advantage of the large influx of visitors in the city, Mayor Dobson and Glory Bound are teaming up in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating 10 percent of all alcohol sales this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to the American Cancer Society.

Mayor Dobson stopped by News 25 this morning to give us an update on even more happening in the city right now, including updates on some long-awaited projects. “The sports complex at Highway 57, we’re putting in some additional parking. Parking has been at a premium down there so we’re working on that. Also the dog park should be opening up at the end of the month. I know we’ve been going around in circles but I think we have a light at the end of the tunnel and I’m banking at the end of the month it’s gonna be open.”

Mayor Dobson also gave a shout-out to the ‘Mayor’s Youth Council,’ a group of very bright high school juniors and seniors getting involved in community projects, one of which is their ‘Community Fall Cleanup Day’ coming next month.

Mayor Dobson says he’s excited to work closer with the group and show them the life of an elected official, both professionally and personally.
