Update on woods fires on the Coast

We have an update on woods fires that popped up in Harrison and Jackson counties late last week.

Mississippi Forestry Commission officials tell News 25 that as of today, the Hancock County fire is 90 percent contained now and has impacted a total of 800 acres. Fire crews continue to monitor the situation.

Over in the Moss Point area, that fire is now fully contained, but smoke is still lingering in the area as of now. 400 acres were affected by that blaze.
