Update on Town Commons Park construction in Gautier

An update on Gautier’s Town Commons Park, bids for contractors to build the amphitheater will go out before the year is over.

City Manager Paula Yancey tells News 25 they are 90 percent of the way through the design phase and as the city turns that corner, it can start looking at transforming the 33-acre lot.

She says that without delays, the park should be fully completed in 2024.

Phase one included building the parking lot and adding other infrastructure at a price point of $1.9 million.

The total cost of the project will be determined as bids are accepted. Yancey said, “This is huge for the city, not just the city of Gautier but the Coast as a whole. This is part of our overall Town Center development, which includes the old Singing River Mall property. We have a contract with a promoter, and we will be finalizing that within the next few weeks to bring national acts to this site.”

News 25 will keep you updated on this as the project goes on.
